Sonia Morel Darleux.

I was born and raised in Versailles, France. Having the example of my older siblings traveling and working abroad gave me the spark to discover some new places in the world. My Master in International Business allowed me to study in Chili and to discover some wonderful countries in South America (Peru, Bolivia and Argentina). My attraction for Latin countries led me to settle in Madrid (Spain) where I lived four years and worked in the aeronautical industry. I started to date a Spaniard, who is now my husband.

In 2008, we moved to Seattle for for a one year project for an airline company. We fell in love with the PNW and all the outdoor opportunities the environment could offer to us. So 15 years later, we are still here! Cycling, backpacking, hiking, skiing and snowboarding are our pillars in our lifes.

Between 2015 and 2017 we had to put "on hold" all our hobbies after welcoming our two boys (aged now of 8 and almost 6 years old). Now, we are back to the trails and slopes with them! As active outdoor parents, we were pleased to enroll our kids in outdoor preschools.

When we started looking at elementary school in our area, we could not find any outdoor school. So with other homeschooling mums, we took up the challenge to create our own forest school, offering a mixed-age range kids classroom. It has been now a year our kids are rushing to come to this forest school. They are so excited to learn what nature can offer to them (making fire, carving, birds watching, recognizing eatable plants...).

My family is feeling so blessed to have Storm as a mentor, with his amazing background as a nature educator, is sharing all his skills and love for nature at Wilding Education.
